What's the "confusion", exactly?
I really fail to see how knowing what firmware release is on some stranger's phone can help in "knowing the phone better". Can you explain your reasoning?
Having info like that would help in getting an idea whether it has been released to the market with different versions of the firmware, but nothing more.
Personally, I think you learn to know the phone better by reading its User's Guide, and trying out things on/with it. After that looking at what other people have experienced, asking questions, etc., will also help to learn more, of course.

You See I Am Geeting My Phone This Monday And After Reading Some Of The Posts Regarding Problems With Nokia 9500 I Felt That Whether This Firmware Version 4.44<1> Is Only Version In Which Has Been Released Worlwide Or Is There A Updated Firmware Model Released Also.
Every firmware post and picture i've seen have all been V4.44, I think it's the first public release.
Best thing to do is to call a large service centre and see what version they have 😉
