Shortcut problem - "Images" goes to root of MMC!

Hello 😊

I have a Nokia 3650 and the following problem: The menu item "Images" does not, as it is supposed to do, go to the "Images" folder in the MMc but instead it goes to the root of the MMC!

That means that all folders i have created (using FExplorer) on the MMC card, to store ogg files, video clips (Smartmovie) etc are visible under "Images". The folders are, but the files aren't!

And, to make matters worse, it is possible to delete these "shortcuts" and in fact delete the actual folders from the MMC! And finding out about that after uploading some 60 MB of ogg files via a very slow IrDA process is really painfull.

Now is there any way of either

a) make these folders on drive e: HIDDEN so they won't show in "Images" anymore (like the "System" folder, for example, which doesn't show)?

b) delete the "shortcuts" to these folders from "Images"?

c) edit the properties of the actual "Images" item under "Menu" so that it goes to e://images instead of the root of drive e:?

I have FExplorer but couldn't find a wayu to set an attribute "hidden" to a folder. Is there any other app to get that done? I don't have a MMC reader.

Oh btw i have verified that "Images" in fact goes to the root mof e: by uploading a jpg to the root of the MMC and it promptly appeared in "Images".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards.....

Thanh

I quess you stored your pictures on you MMC?
Of course under "Images" your folders on the MMC are visible!
(That is because you are in a file-browser mode, like FE-Explorer!)
But all files but your image-files are filtered, so that you can just see the jpg files in your Image folder, and all other folders seem to be empty!
I am using the German-laguage-version there it says: "No Photos" in the "empty" folders! (meaning no images, but NOT no files)

If you would delete the "empty" folders / shortcuts you would delete the folders on your mmc.

Why would you want to hide the other folders???
When you but a jpg file in one off your other mmc-folders it will be visible under Images.

SO what you are calling a problem, is a feature, so that you can look at jpgs, wich are located anywhere on your MMC! 😃

Hello 😊

Funny what Nokia thinks of as "feature". In a folder called "Images" one would expect.... well... images, no? So why the heck would mp3, SIS, backup, etc... folders be shown there? If users would want to store a picture in the root of the MMC, they need to use a 3rd party application like FExplorer, and logically would use the same app to get to that picture if it's needed again.

Now imagine. You have a folder on MMC, seemingly safe there. You take several hours (almost 8 to be specific) to upload some 100 MB of song files, because you want to use your phone as a "walkman". And then some dumbass of a colleague at work is nosy, opens your "images" folder to see what XX pictures you got... finds a seemingly empty folder and presses a wrong button. BAM. 8 hours of work (or better, patience) destroyed.

All i want is my "Images" icon to go to IMAGES and not to the root of the drive. If it has to go to the root, then i want a possibility to hide folders from view, so that they can not be accidentally deleted.

And if Nokia thinks that users anyway use 3rd party software to scatter images all over the place... then why put the "Images" thing there at all? Just tell the customer to get FExplorer......

Kind regards....
