All,

I sussed it !!!

I found a java based MSN thingy on the web - when I tried to access it, I got as message about "Vodafone Content Control barring" and I need to certify I am over 18.

You do this through their website ( 1 charge ) once done, Agile works perfectly.

Hippo

Thanks for the update Hippo - it's good to prove the problem wasn't anything to do with the phone. 😊

oh, the joy over this one!! well done Hippo!!
it's a bit of a jip that Vodafone have started to charge to allow chat sessions - they let the yahoo one through, which is a bit odd. My Nokia 6600 still works though - maybe i set that up before the content barring occured.

smashing!

the content barring does cost you a pound but you get 2.50 worth of free GPRS access back from VF
Even if you set up before content barring you should still have to register with VF

i may not have noticed as it is my work phone and we have a massive GPRS allowance due to using data services on a Field Based CRM package. I don't get to see a bill so probably didn't notice the free entitlement.
Still odd that they let Yahoo through...
