Ok since alot of people seem to be having problem using agile messanger on o2 and some other networks id thought id write this little guide, i work for o2 customer care so i have the knowledge needed to help you on your way as it seems thats you have ventured off the yellow brick road!
ok here goes:
First thing that you must always do is to ring your network provider be it o2 vodafone or any other network provider, the number youll need to ring will be printed on your bill, once through ask them to anable all the accesspoints that you need these are the 3 main access points on o2:
1.GPRS WAP = wap.o2.co.uk <----- this is gprs for you wap browser and MMS
2.MOBILE WEB = mobile.o2.co.uk <----- this is the one you need for agile messanger
3.Blackberry = www.blackberry.net <----- ONLY needed for rim enabled handsets
in order for you to understand what all these accesspoint are for here is a little information:
GPRS WAP: If a customer ie you is wanting to use wap on your handset via GPRS, to view pages like the o2-active page then this is the accesspoint that youll need for that, also this is the access point that you will need to send mms (picture messages) dont get confused with accesspoints and the actual settings that you need on the handsets obviously you have MMS settings and WAP settings on your handset but it uses the same accespoint (APN).
MOBILE WEB: If a customer wants to use there phone to send and recieve email and connect to the full internet on your handset or by using your handset as a modem to connect to the full web, also for internet based applications like agile messanger you will need this accesspoint anabled.
BLACKBERRY: If a customer owns a blackberry device or a rim anabled handser ie xda2 and nokia's 6810/6820 they will need this accespoint anabled for the emails to be send to the handset automatically instead of connecting the mail box everytime you wanna check for new emaisl (basically blackberry or RIM is like text messaging but for emails and also in most cases its faster then text messages) this service is mainly used for bussynessmen and companies at the moment but is getting more and more widespread.
Once you have the correct accesspoint on you account (MOBILE WEB!!!!! DONT FORGET!!!) then you need to correct settings on your handset, for the mobile web settings for your handset for every network go here:
http://secure.mouse2mobile.com/clients/nokia/com/internet/1dis.asp
fill out the appropriate details and then you will receive the settings on your handset, dont forget to save them!
Now you have everything you need for agile messanger to work (presuming you actualy have agile messanger), open agile messanger up go down to where it says internet accespoint and make sure (if you are on o2) that you select O2 MOBILE WEB, now press connect and as long as all you yahoo msn icq and aim accounts are set up correct then you will find yourself enduged in IM mayhem on your nokia 7610, BRILLIANT!!
when doing this for vodafone you may need to ask for the x rated content blocker to be removed on tope of all of th above, but o2 doesnt have such a blocker.
there ya go how easy is that sorted, if any moderator reads this could you please make it sticky because the same problem keeps popping up over and over again??
