Hi. I sent via BT an AAC file coded with iTunes to 9500, and (ext .m4a) it's not readable neither from audio player nor realplayer. Can you playback AAC?

the folder is correct. when i send the file from the mac, it has .m4a (AAC) extension. in 9500 file manager it has blank icon: not visible in no apps. if i rename it in .mp4, the icon change to realplayer icon. if i open then RP, the file is visible but it doesn't playback...

Sorry, I don't know what the extension should be for AAC files on the 9500 😞
There are two AAC standards.MPEG2 AAC - .AAC and MPEG4 AAC - .M4A so if the 9500 plays MPEG 4 AAC the extension should be .M4A but i'd also try with .AAC.The 9500 most likely won't be able to play AAC media encoded using Apple's proprietary Digital Rights Management (DRM) scheme used in iTunes.
i'm doing my own cd's archive on a fw hd importing cd's using itunes and aac encoding. so i cannot play them in 9500 if i encode my cd' with itunes?

I might've added a little bit of confusion to the discussion.
I don't know the technical procedure or the standards used in iTunes encoding feature.I was reffering to DRM,the procedure Apple invented to prevent users from sharing songs or being played on other players but iTunes.On the other hand,i might be right.Try encoding your media with another application: dBpowerAMP is highly recommend by forum users and its freeware.I use Easy CD-DA Extractor.

Only downloaded *.m4p files from the iTunes Music Store are protected, not the ones ripped to *.m4a with iTunes from your own CDs. The problem with these files not playing on the Nokia 9500 probably is that they are in the MP4 container and not in the *.aac file format yet.
