Bluetooth on 9500 - why not both profiles

I've used SE P800 phone, T39/T28 etc and had very few problems with bluetooth on them. I've even been able to share 1 headset in the car between a 'work' phone and personal phone, both of which I need active at once.

Now with the 9500 a large step back, instead of a front menu option to turn bluetooth on I have to open it, and turn bluetooth on.
Then go into control panel, select the headset and 'connect'.

I assume this is because the 9500 only support handsfree profile, not headset.

From checking the manual it appears that it's not me, every time I turn bluetooth off I have to reconnect the headset. Very slow.

This is stupid, I very rarely had a problem with my SE phones and bluetooth connection, so why is it beneath Nokia to actually implement headset profile*!*!*!*

Steve. :con? 😡

Also with the later firmwards you can add the option to turn on and off BT from the cover options menu. Admittedly you cannot start the music player from the front 😞

That's good news. I'm always frustrated when it's fiddley to turn bluetooth on. Why is it not a profile setting? My other irritation what the 9500's inability to search&connect automatically when BT is turned on.

I like the idea of a phone/word processor/GPS/music player (which should be controllable from the front), but it's irritating when you can't use the phone because you've been listening to music for a few hours. Battery life seems to shorten with each new series of phones, for various reasons including 3G's increased drain.

At least the firmware was improved over time, hopefully some of these improvements will be carried forwards.😊

from the main unlocked menu on the front of the phone select:
goto button->options button-> select options menu option

then you are presented with a list of 'goto' options and a checkbox beside them. You can add bluetooth from there. Battery life will always suck when you have BT on all the time.

But i have to admit its got worse since the last FW upgrade.
