Transferring Messages from PhoneMemory to MemoryCard

8 replies · 5,473 views · Started 26 November 2004

Hello -

I have over 1500 messages ( SMS ) saved on phone memory and they are eating 2.5 MB of space. How do I transfer all the messages from phone memory to my 64 MB memory card.

Also after doing that I want to see them under my Inbox ?? How ??

Thanks,

Messages>Settings>Other Settings>use MMC

But when I did that, it seemed to work fine, only on entire phone backup, I got a message that it could not copy from C:\System\Mail

Thats what issue I have been facing. If I use MMC then after a restart Message inbox is shown empty .. Is there is any utility which can move all sms from C:\ to D:\

I do not know whether I got that problem. Everything worked fine and my Inbox was also ok. I only got the error message about the backing up. So I switched back. I am not a heavy sms/mms user so I have not tried.

Maybe there is too much data to move back and forth. There is also an option to copy or move. Why don't you try both and see.

you could just copy the c:\system\mail to e:\system\mail using fexplorer, then go to settings of messages then change to memory card, this could takes minutes because of your large inbox, then check if the messages are all there, if yes, try to delete the folder of c:\system\mail

When you change to save messages to Memory Card (instead of Phone Memory)
Doesn't the phone ask you, whether you want to keep the old messages?

I think it just switches where it looks for messages (from C:\... to D:\...), and doesn't touch the existing folder. It's not a transfer mechanism, but a feature for people who store messages on the MMC card for portability.
