Problems syncing with Outlook 2003

Has anyone encountered difficulties syncing their A1000 with Outlook 2003. It appears to be syncing and then gives an error message 0x80020009. Anyone know what the problem is and how to solve it? Neither 3 G in Australia or the Motorola Technical Team have any clues. All I can say is I'm frustrated to the max and ready to hand it back. Also discovered the walled garden problem - what a joke!! Thanks in anticipation Also I'm using XP Professional on my laptop and we run Microsoft Exchange in house

Hi! I am syncing it with my Mac and my Windows-PC (Outlook 2003) and don't have any problems. Sorry, but that doesn't seem to be a common error.

And you don't have to use 3 the next 100 years. Unlock the phone, get a 3G-card of another network provider like Vodafone and enjoy the internet! Three has to learn, that not everybody wants to buy some creepy logos and ringtones on their own website, but that we all want to access the internet!

Bye

Alex

Thanks TexMurphy I'll take up the walled garden problem with 3 G in Australia. They are keen to sign up our company, they'll only get our business if they solve the internet connection problem.

Am having excatly the same issue ie synch error 0x80020009. Find that Calander synchs beautifully but will not fully synch contacts.

Hi,
I have the same problem and have a discussion with 3 sweden. Good to know I'm not alone. Will get back to this forum if I get an answer.

Hi I think I've finally got to the bottom of the problem. It appears that when Microsoft launched Outlook 2003 the connectivity had not been sorted out with the Symbian operating system. I have been told directly by Motorola that it is a known bug and they are working on a solution with Microsoft. So give up trying to sync it will only send you crazy in the meantime ... I know I'm living testimony!!

The only advice given to date is to uninstall Office 2003 and install an earlier version, making sure all the patches have been downloaded from the Microsoft site. Once you've got it to work then upgrade to 2003 but don't reinstall, otherwise you'll have the same problems. I'm planning to try this advice in the next few days and I'll let you know if it works. Remember if you uninstall anything backup your data first. Cheers

The first A100 kept crashing so have received a replacement. Vainly hoped the sync problem was associated with the faulty phone, but no. Waiting to hear back from Motorla, having said I was not the only one having this problem and sending them the url to this page. Let's hope it makes a difference. They claimednot to know about thisproblem! Please everyone get onto Motorola. Happy New Year
