backlight in SX1

Is there a way to turn the backlight off, or keep it on all the time?

To turn it on, use FExplorer (http://www.gosymbian.com/) to turn it on, leave it running in the background (and switch to other apps you want to run while keeping the backlight on).

Has anyone found a way to turn the backlight on when the phone is connected to a car kit?

Mine is on, with my old car kit (professional voice 45series).
IIRC it got enabled after FW10 or so.

I've got FW12 iirc, and the portable CarKit (the one you plug into the cigarette lighter), but no backlight.. bah.. :hmmmm:
