I cannot figure out how to turn off the click sound in my 6260. I have tried turning it to silent, also bringing the volume to 0 from the side keys......I dont want it to make that click noise when I capture an image.....Anybody know how?
Thanks

I believe this is not possible with this model. I don't know if it is deliberate or accidental. If the latter, a new firmware version might fix it some day.
the permanent camera/video recorder sounds are designed to be there. apparently to stop the peeping toms from being undetected when they take "sneaky" shots. 😮
thats what i heard anyway.
you can replace "StartCapture.wav" with a silent wav file with the same name in the "Z:\System\Apps\Camera\" folder with ogygen phone manager for symbian.
Nevs, are you saying that you've done that and managed to silence the camera sound? :icon14:
For te record, I've found that having a headset plugged in makes the camera sound come out there (and therefore not the speaker). Bit of a pain but if someone really, really, really wants to get rid of the sound, then that will do it. :

er...so this app is able to re-write the phone's ROM? 😮
No, Oxygen cannot be used to replace files in ROM.

you can use file explorer to change the file
No file explorer can be used to change ROM files; ROM = Read Only Memory = no writing = no changing of anything.
