6630 sim card

Hi guys, ive heard that the 6630 can take normal sim cards as well as 3g, would i have to buy a special 6630 to use my orange sim card or will the phone just work it out? Also is unlocking the phone the same as say the 7610?

it uses both usim and normal sim cards,i use the 3G service with my normal sim card i didnt have to change my sim on my 6630 (vodafone greece)

Hi there.

I wanted to let you know that the 6630 does not work on the orange network, its a 2.5g and a 3g compatibility issue with the orange network, unless orange dont release their 3g services this is going to be a problem. Unless you have your 6630 working properly on orange?, let me know. Thanks

WOW really, ummm i havent ordered it yet but i was planning on using my orange pay-as-you-go on it, ill email orange and see what they say.

iam using this device with Orange SIM card /GSM,GPRS,maybe EDGE from the next year,and UMTS in 2006/ 😃

Reply i got from orange:

"Thank you for your mail received 1 December regarding the Nokia 6630.

I would like to advise that as long as it is an Orange phone or a SIM free phone you will be able to use your Sim card. May I suggest that you try your SIM card in the phone before you purchase it to ensure that it is compatible.

If you require further information please call the help desk on 07973 100 150 for pay monthly, or 07973 100 450 for pay as you go, where a representative will be pleased to assist. Our operators are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
