Hi,
I have just started using a 7650 phone this week, having bought it second hand from an auction site.
It appears that a pile of ring tones and java games were downloaded by the previous owner.
I would like to backup these files, get the phone flashed to the latest ROM version and reset the whole thing to factory defaults.
I have been searching the discussion threads at ths site and others but have failed to get definative answers to the following questions:-
1) What is the hack that allows nokia data suite to backup the downloaded ring tones/games/logos. If I do hack this program, can I then restore some of the files to the phone later. Do they go back into the phone in protected mode, or just a files that are saved in the appropriate data store.
2) Is the only way to flash the phone with a new BIOS version to send it away to a nokia repair centre, or is there a cable/utility combination available.
3) Does the flashing of the phone change anything else, ie delete downloaded files, contacts etc?
4) My phone has version 3.16 ROM in it. What are the advantages of going for later versions. ie is the a feature / bug list around for the various versions of the ROMS.
Any answers other than the inevitable "already posted.....search the existing threads...you loser" would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
John.
