Sorry for the bizzare Thread title... I wanted people to be able to find this thread if they have the same problem as me.
Hardware: Nokia 6600 v 4.09.1 (Vodaphone)
Software: TomTom Mobile (my retail version and subsequent updates show same symptom)
Problem: The navigation voice commands stutter and are choppy. What should sound like "At the next roundabout take the 1st exit and proceed to next roundabout" sounds like "at-a-bout... bout... 1st... exit... 1st.. -ext. -about". As you can imagine it's very hard to follow! I've checked with the TomTom knowledgebase and it doesn't seem a common fault - but I did see someone with the same problem on "wi-fi forum" - with no cure.
All other applications and games sound fine. I'm wondering if it's something Vodafone put on their version of the Nokia firmware - or a problem with this specific firmware revision. Is anyone else running TomTom mobile on this phone revision?
TIA,

Hey,
You haven't told us the full story have you? 😊
You have added the Speed Camera POI's right? With these added you get this stutter as TomTom cannot cope with the extra POI's.
But it has been cured and is very easy to do. Basically you have to unpack the current POI's one by one back into a .ASC file, then repackage them again into an OV2 file before copying them across to your map folder on the MMC card.
Here is a link telling you all you need to know :-
http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=12130&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
Have a read through all four pages, page 3 is where the solution comes in.
Quote "try this trick. use dumpov2.exe from TT website to convert original ov2 file to .ASC file then use makeov2.exe to convert it to .ov2 . works better (90%). "
Here is the link to the tools you need :-

Hope this sorts it for you.

 You are a STAR!!!
Yes, I admit it - I installed the speed camera database. i'd actually (thought trial and error) worked out it was the speed camera db earlier today - I was just getting used to the idea of living without such a useful, and totally legal (😊), feature!
I will follow your advice!!
Thanks once again!
