I just received my A1000. It's so cooool.........and I like it more than my P900.
But somehow I got it stuck on the "Motorola 3G " opening loop without any clue on how it could be start up again. Can anyone please tell me how I can do a soft or even hard reset on it? Otherwise, I need to bring back to the service center for a replacement. But it's a ridiculous......if I get it stuck next time, I need to bring it back again?!!! I think Motorola needs to make a hugh provision on it!
Hi!
I can't believe there is no way to reset the A1000. I had a Motorola MPX200 before and this phone doesn't have a reset button as well, but a hidden key combination to make a soft reset and another one for a hard reset. I think and hope, there might be something simular for the A1000.
Bye
Alex
If really that case, that will be good. Anyone can tell me...as I want to reset my phone.........it will take me a long drive to replace it...

Hi, don't mean to sound like an arse but, have you tried killing the power by taking out the battery waiting 60 secs and then putting the battery back in, it should reset and start up.
All the best,
Anil.
Thanks for your advice first.
I did but not sure it had been taken enough time say over 60 sec.(I think at least over 30 secs but why 60s?) before putting back the battery. As I am not holding with me A1000 right now, I will check if it works or not. Thanks!
Confirmed....not work......the battery even died down eventually.
What buttons I can use to reboot it? Need help again!
I just got the same problem. I accidentally filled the memory and the Desktop Suite program om my PC froze and the mobile to. I disconnected the A1000 and rebooted it.
At startup it said there wasn't enought free memory and wanted to delete alot of files. It was going in slooowmotion so i just clicked "yes to all" and when it was done with 26mb free memory it rebooted again. Now it just starts up and i get the Motorola logo in the botom of the screen.. Nothing more happens. there must be someway to "reset" it?
Try going to control panel. Then Select Master Clear/Master Reset and do a master reset

Thats fine if the phone will actually turn on :P

True....the problem is ....it gets stuck on th "Motorola 3G" screen and cannot reboot. How can I even go to the so called Master Reset menu!!!!!
But I still believe there should be a way to reset it (if not reflash it)!
There should be but so far no one on this, or any other A1000 forum has found out what it is - if there even is a way to do a hard reset 😞
I havnt looked into it myself but maybe if you put the phone in the dock and choose the reset option in the motorola desktop suite? if you havnt made a backup theres bound to be one available for download or maybe on the cd.
Just an idea, i have no idea if it works.
i was trying to do a master reset but it kept asking for a secruity code....and i have no idea what that is, i know the pins i created and its not one of them....is it a default code?

cheers glen!! im hoping a reset will solve why i cant backup!...
Same happened tome too. I tried everything suggested above. In desperation I put the phone back into the cradle, charger connected, and after about 5 minutes it rebooted again, this time correctly. I suppose that it is some kind of power problem.
