Hi,
Has anyone tried to connect to the internet on this phone, using bluetooth instead of gprs?
I would like to connect by bluetooth to my desktop computer and use its internet connection.
It would be very useful to me, since GPRS internet connections are quite expensive here...
Many thanks,
K.

I think there's a Bluetooth profile to establish a network connection... I know I can use it that way on my PDA, and use the Dektop internet connection to browse the internet. I think this is also possible on the Siemens SX1...
It would be a nice feature if this is possible, specially when you are at home or office, and can make use of those connections (a USB bluetooth tongle is all that is needed)
Again, has anyone try to see if this is possible?

Well you can do it on the 6600 so I imagine it's no different on the 6630:

6630 -> Bluetooth -> PC -> Internet
He wants to surf the internet on his 6630 via the computer's (cable) connection...
I am trying to follow the instructions but there are a few things that seem to be different in my 6630.
- Only bearer type available is "Packet Data" (GPRS); it is not possible to set up an "access point" for circuit data calls; I am wondering if this is true for all 6630s or it is a TIM customisation....
- the 6630 doesn't support the Bluetooth serial profile so when the istructions read "connect to the serial port" what do they exactly mean?
- last thing: what is this mRouter icon that is mentioned? I have the Nokia PC suite installed but I can't see any mRouter program on my pc.....
I feel such a newbie but this is my first Nokia phone and my first Symbian device, so indeed I'm a newbie!

i dont think it is possible because it also doenst work on the 7610 as it does not have a bluetooth serial port. i presume the 6630 also does not have a bluetooth serial port which is needed for such internet access
What profiles are available on the 6630?
It would be very bad for me if this is not available, this is suppose to be the best
symbian phone out there, and I keep finding out things where is worse than other phones...

Using a PC with a Widcomm stack to query the phone, the services reported are:
- Dial-Up Networking
- Headset Audio Gateway
- OBEX File Transfer
- OBEX Object Push
I agree with you that not supporting the serial profile is another huge disappointment. No PC pass-through connection to the internet and, I believe, no chance to connect a BT GPS receiver.
