Sound Recorder - How does it...?

So, I recorded about 25 minutes (3mb) of sound from my P900, and the recording is very important to me -- when I try to send it via Bluetooth, it does nothing (either a bug or phone limitation) -- this is from the "Send As" function ... so, my question is (since it's still in memory), how do I get it off of my phone? If I select "new recording," what happens to the current one? Will it let me save it somewhere or does it do away with it? UIQ has some serious issues ....

Just install a decent file manager (i.e. one that lets you see the full file system - search on here, there is an excellent freeware one) and you should be able to find the file easily enough. It's just a wav file I think. I've even used this method to record sounds and then stick them in the audio folder to use and ringtones and alerts!

And I thing that it you select new, it should create a new sound and not overwrite the old one, but don't quote me on that.

As for beaming the file, it's obviously just too big. Even if you recorded to the storage card (can you? can't remember), it gets copied to internal memory before it's beamed. Sounds like the phone just doesn't have enough free memory. Might be worth trying to reboot, clear out all unecessary apps that auto-run after boot and then try.

Good luck

I have a decent file manager, but I don't think it's a .wav file yet if it's sitting in memory ... can't find a trace of it.

Can you (or somebody else) create some 5 second clip, and then hit "new" and tell me if it allows you to save the previous clip? This blowzzzzz...

Seems like a memory problem with the sending over Bluetooth ... giving it a go after reboot, and same -- it asks if I want to clear some memory, but it isn't using up that much (6mb -- but it says I have 5mb left, and my file isn't even 3!)....

D'oh!

You're not gonna believe this -- used File Manager to find the file, then double-clicked on it, and it opened in the Music player -- from the music player, you can SAVE -- I saved it to my memory stick -- can you freak'n believe it? Are you listening S-E? UIQ has some issues that need to be fixed!
