You'll have to copy the contacts in your SIM to the phone's memory. If the problem persists, it can be because the number is duplicated (that is, the same number in two different contacts). Remember that if you've received a message and afterwards you assign a contact to that phone number, normally the previously received message keeps the number as the sender.
