Memory Problem

Help, something weird is going on with my phone :s

App manager Memory screen (bluetooth on the blink so no screen shot):

8 kb Calendar
61 kb Contacts
236 b Documents
84 kb Messages
841 kb Images
562 kb Sound Files
518 kb Applications

3829 kb Mem in use
263 kb Free memory

In the Manager screen i have

456 kb MAGIC Game...
176 kb SeleQ
166 kb MVRPool

Even with the SIS apps, the total doesn't reach 3829 kb (rougly 2872) so where has my memory gone?!!!?! help!!

I deleted all my SIS apps except for SeleQ and now the memory screen reads:

8 kb Calendar
61 kb Contacts
236 b Documents
75 kb Messages
841 kb Images
562 kb Sound Files
518 kb Applications

3163 kb Mem in use
929 kb Free memory

its blatant that the items do not add up to the "mem in use" total, what the fuck is going on? I restarted the phone just before taking this snap shot and i got a KERNEL error on startup... just ignored it, but what does it all mean?!!!?!?!

Anybody can tell what's all about. My App.manager show

9 kB Calendar
46 kB Contacts
290 B Documents
22 kB Messages
485 kB Images
0 kB Sound files
150 kB Applicatons

2425 kB Mem. in use
1667 kB Free memory

I think that there is no actuall problem, but a minor calculating problem of the Manager application. Upon installation of programs files tend to spread around the phone for data like, libraries registry etc, that are not counted by the Manager application. Files are created with the use of a particular software, that are not neccessarely counted in the total of kb of an application. When installing MiniGolf for example and playing it it might (and does actually) create something like a HighScor file that is NOT removed with the uninstallation of the game. Then there is the question, how many such apps have you installed and removed. Another important point is the system files like your Virtual Memory of Windows. This "Virtual memory" is not included in the total kb display! There is a great deal of unused files floating around your phone, but they dont add up more maybe 20kb, with some exceptions maybe.

NOTE! One of my friends recorded a video with PVauthor and removed the application. I dont know why but the Manager did not remove the .mp4 file so he did not know that he had about 150kb of video in the phone!

A good thing to do is to compress your memory from time to time and save extra kb.

But do not forget we are speaking about dynamic memory, so like MaleBuffy said unused floating files are eating mem space.

I hope a software maker will come up with a defrag tool soon. I the mean time try to compress your mem (use Seleq abc+menu or System tool). Best ersults will go thru a total reset of your phone reinstalling all applications.

ther may be no actual problem, but the phone seems to rely on the App. Manger reading when working out how many pictures and sounds you can store. So even though I should have (and possibly DO have) about 2000kb free the phone thinks i have 900kb free and will only let me take that many pictures....
