Is browser actually better than whatever browser that is on the nokia 6600? I have been using Doris Browser but havnt really noticed much improvement

The Opera browser is better than most other browsers out there, but of course, it depends what sites you like to visit. The 6600 also comes bundled with a browser made by Nokia, and which is quite crap. Don�t use this one.
Go for Opera or alternatively Netfront...
