Outlook Sync - Major Calendar Problems

1 replies · 3,844 views · Started 07 December 2004

Hi,

I actually have a Smartphone2 which works great with outlook and the calendar,
however, just buying an A1000, I have found a major problem with the outlook calendar entries.

I am in Sydney Aus (GMT+10). Many of the calendar appointments are made by people in North America. If they send me meetings that are in my morning, and therefore their previous day in terms of actual date, that is where the problem occurs.

It shows the correct local time for the entry, but the day before the correct local day.

e.g.
US made entry for 4pm Central time, for the 5th of December
that should be
AUS, 8am, 6th of December. and this works correctly on my SmartPhone.

On my A1000, it becomes
AUS, 8am, 5h of December. With the amount of calendar entries created and changed by my US counterparts, this is unacceptable.

Any OS updates/fixes?

Can I hand the phone back in Aus and get out of a contract due to this problem?
It is a showstopper.

Thanks all!

I spoke with Motorola and 3 in Australia.

There is no fix. It is a Symbian Issue. 3 are cancelling my contract and allowing me to hand my phone back.

I'll continue to use my SmartPhone.
