When the backlight is on I hear a hum coming from the speaker (not the speaker phone, just the normal speaker). As soon as the backlight goes off the hum stops.
This is slightly annoying for the first part of a call since I have to listen to this hum until the light goes off.
Anybody else experience this or do I have duff hardware?

I am also having the same prob.I went to Nokia Care and they were not able to get wht i want to tell them, and when finally they get they were not accepting that this is the prob. I am facing same in my 6600 and my 7610 also.
The sound is light mosqiuto sound.

This appears to squash that mosquito. Of course, running a brighter screen is gonna affect battery life :frown: .
So this implies it's some interference caused by the dimmer (resistor?). Which is a hardware (or design) fault, IMO.
Cannot hear/notice any mosquito in my 7610... But possibility of bad resistor likely. If Nokia is not going to change ur phone for a few dead pixels, surely they are not going to change for mosquito. Seems common complaints with TFT screens - check Palm forums - plenty of posts for screen buzzing sound.
In any event the 7610 is miles ahead in sound quality and loudness over the 6610.
i sometimes hear this sound.. i just noticed it a few days back and yes my phones screen brightness is set to the lowest level.. but sometimes i dont hear it.. like just now when i am typing.. its not there.. i dont find it annoying anyways..
