a1000 backup problem

I cant back up my a1000...it look so easy in the manual, just press backup it says and wait for it to reboot..but its not like that for me..

I run backup and it appears to be working only to fail saying " Failed to anaylse the differnece between pc and handset".....what on earth is that all about?

Any one else had problems...?

Running xp sp2...

I had the same problem. Desktop Suite closes all applications OK then does some analyzing and comes up with the message:
"Backup Error: Failed to analyse differences between the handset and the PC (0x8000ffff)"
"Backup Failed"
Then the phone resets.
I downloaded the latest version of the Desktop Suite 'cos mine was a little old. That worked. I can backup the C drive (internal memory) OK.
But then I added a memory card and told it to also backup the D drive - now I get the same error again.

I get this problem too. After a master clear/reset when the phone is wiped clear of everything the backup utility worked fine. But now that I've put some of my apps back onto the phone it no longer works.

To solve this problem I went to "Settings" menu, and then to "Backup" Tab, and changed the location of the Backup storage to a new directory, and then mine was able to Backup successfully.

Please can you tell me whree you were able to download the latest version of the Desktop Suite, as i cant find it anywhere?

Thanks,
