Let's fight! 6260 vs. 6630?

Would you still go to 6630?

For me its unbelievable NO!!! It has no IR nor FM stereo. Megapixel cmera? duh get a digicam instead! Since 6260 is cheaper than 6630 you can buy a digicam about 3M pixel!

No need for fighting, but personally, I'd take a 6630 over a 6260 myself any time (if phone price is not the issue).

For one, I don't need/use infrared for anything (not since Bluetooth was invented).

Secondly, you can get FM radio using a Nokia HS-2R (stereo) headset. It works with the 6630.

Thirdly, for locally (memory card) stored music, the 6630 has full stereo output support (through a headset) whereas the 6260 doesn't.

In addition, 3G is useful here (much faster browsing, email, app downloads & streaming is nice a quick, too).

And if you use the camera, the 6630 1.3Mpixel camera beats the 0.3Mpixel camera of the 6260. ( I do have a 5Mpixel digital camera, too, but I don't carry it with me all the time. 😉 )

The 6630 is also much faster to operate (more powerful processor).

The 6260 is OK, if you want the built-in FM radio, need infrared support, want to pay less, and prefer a clam shell (fold) form-factor. And for the time being there are bigger 3.3V RS-MMC cards available (256MB, 512MB) than the 64MB dual-voltage versions (for the 1.8V support) that the 6630 needs.

6260:
Can fold
VGA camera
Very bad video recording
Hard to press the buttons
IR and BT. (no need for IR when theres BT)
FM Radio (I have N-Gage I've never used FM radio even once)

6630:
1.3MP camera
Cooooool gallery
BT
I think much better look and design than 6260
Hot swap MMC
etc.

Of course usage is the important thing here.

I'll buy the 6630 as soon as it gets released in my country.
I'll use its camera a lot. I bought a 5.1MP camera a week ago and its really good but its not the same.

You can't transfer to another device without connectiong to computer etc.
Radio isn't really important as each has MP3 player but if you want you can buy Nokia's headset with radio.

I guess if you go for a COMPLETE nokia phone, such as:

IR for TVs, BT, FM,MP3, camera,Video,VPN, hot rsmmc swap... what else? True-to-life TFT display

go for 6260... it's everything!

If you go for a bulky, megapixel camera go for 6630 then. You may also add an FM stereo there so the equation will be like this:

bulky megapixel camera + add on fm = good luck!

The camera on the 6630 (from a lot of the pics I've seen) gives pictures as sharp as many "proper" digital cameras, so its considerably more usable for actual photographs than most phone cameras (SE S700 being the only current GSM thats actually any good).

The processor on the 6630 is a 200+mhz device, so everything goes much faster.

The biggest difference between the two is that the 6630 is a 3G phone, so in a way, you are comparing apples and oranges, its not a proper comparison.

Overall, the 6630 is a better phone. Okay, some of you may prefer the 6260, and it may better meet your needs/expectations, but that alone doesn't make it better. It makes it better FOR YOU.

As for the 6260 having everything - not particularly true, is it? It hasn't got a well thought out physical design (camera dropping resolution in its media mode is stupid). Mono only MP3, whilst better than none at all, is still half-baked, especially when you have a stereo radio built in.

I'm not saying the 6630 is perfect, its still a big phone, but overall for most people, its probably a much better phone.

And you have a bulky .3m pixel camera phone .... remember that the 6260 is much bigger than most other flip phones. In general, flip phones are smaller than other formats, but not when they are produced by nokia.

The Siemens SX1 does all that the 6260 does, but better. It has hot swappable memory cards without having to remove the cover. It has stereo MP3 playback.

Don't get me wrong, I like the 6260, but you are coming over as a 6260 fanboy.

And a minor point, but in my experience of VPN, what is the use of it on a phone??? I've only ever used VPN to connect my laptop to a corporate network.

I would have considered the Siemens but that stoopeed keyboard (even worse than Nokia's round one) put me well off. It's all very well saying that "you'll get used to it after a while", but that phone isn't goinf to last forever and then I'll have to re-learn a normal keypad. Nah, forget it. I'm more than happy with my 6260 right now.

In my opinion we can't compare directly these phones because of the prices: 6260 costs 390EUR instead of the 550EUR of the 6630! The 6630 HAS to be better, of course 🙄 ...

The CZ lens in the 6630 makes outstanding pictures (and a outstanding price 😃 ); the quality of the pictures taken by the 6260's is the greatest issue of this phone (I thing they are not as brighter as the 6600. Please, people that has got a 6600 correct me!)...

The 123MHz ARM4T of the 6260 is not as slow as some people thinks 🙄 : it takes a score of 1072 in SPMark04, instead of the 719 of Nokia N-Gage QD(104MHz ARM4T). But of course, 6630 wins again here with its 220MHz ARM5! (scores 2041).

Eeeer, the 3G of the 6630... I don't think is fair to say that this phone is a native 3G one, because you have to mount a huge 3G camera that is sold separately and it has been thought to make videocalls with that 3G camera laying on a table (I think this explanation had had sense 😊, my english is not still very good)

6630 is the Top of the Class mobile from Nokia and this is shown in its features and its price. But for me, if Nokia had put a 1,23MPixel camera in the 6260, it would have been the perfect mobile, in design (I love it 🙄 ) and add-ons (radio, Ir, BT...).

PS: I also thing that if Nokia Had put a 1,23MPixel camera in the 6260, when in Camera Mode we would had to take pictures in 640x960 instead of 1280x960 when in browse mode 😃
