Transfer games/videos to transflash card

When you say write protected, all i can think of is 3 Networks own movies and games. They have there own little method of locking and blocking stuff on this phone, just so they can force you/or make you pay more.

In other words, normaily this would work but not if its 3 softwares. If you however download or make your own movies, there are two ways of coping files like you whant. Ither connect the phone to the computer and brows it from there, or buy a file browser for trhe phone and copy it internaly.

What I think he/she means by protected is that the files are installed on the 'C drive' and he wants them on the 'D drive'. The A1000 appears to protect the installed program files, making moving them slightly trickier.

It is possible though, but be warned, IT CAN GO WRONG.

You need something like Tracker and it's file manager to do this and it doesn't work with all titles. I think there's a size limit as to which ones you can install on the memory card and it's a case of installing them to C, moving files using a 3rd party file manager (as mentioned above), and then tricking the A1000 that they are still in the same location or running them through a shell like Tracker instead of the UIQ launcher.

I did find a tutorial a while back telling you how to do this somewhere on Google, have you tried a search?

The best thing would be a software update for the A1000 that allowed us to install the software on the external memory card too, like the P800 and 900's etc. which use the same OS as us. This is a major let down to the A1000 and limits what you can do with it...

I'll confirm that this method does work
But only for apps that are java based and the app file is under 16k.

The files i now have on my memory card are

Goldeneye
Mobile Othello
Twin Fruits
Twin Bubbles
Aramiths Quest

And the best was Advanced English Dictionary
I couldn't install this before as it was 6 meg but it works from the card fine.

Does the method outlined only apply to games? What about other apps? I tried to follow the steps for some apps, but when i try to load the app, i get the message "Access denied".

Has anyone had the same problem?

a92x dont use transflash btw. they use sd or mmc
