Faxing with 9500 and orange

7 replies · 2,553 views · Started 09 December 2004

Trying to send fax from 9500 but it says not supported, spoke to Orange and they say that I have a facility to receive faxes on my number but not send them and this is not possible through Orange network on any phone...is this true as it sounds odd?

Not sure if this helps, but I can send fax via Vodafone but had to get a separate number to rec them on. Have no idea if I could rec. or send before I got this number.

Thanks for reply, I do have a seperate number for fax but i'm told this is for incoming only.

I'm on vodafone NZ and I have a seperate 'data line'.
It lets me both send and recieve faxes.

Could you find any solutions by now ? Same Problem for me, the fax won't get send to any normal fax machine.

9210/(i) both send & receive faxes OK on Orange. haven't tried 9500 yet - will have to now.

Essentially, the 9500 can sense whether or not you have fax permissions on your tariff. As Orange doesnt carry the 9500, there is no permission for it to use fax on the orange network. It simply wont turn up in the write new message dialogue. No idea how to force it.

I have just sent a fax successfully from 9500 to a landline fax machine over Orange network.

I had fax working with Orange on 9210 and simply switched Sim card into 9500. However, I never bought a 9210 from Orange - I recall I simply rang them up and asked them to provide fax and data lines and they did. I think I told them I was using 9210 but not one of theirs - it wasn't a problem back then.

Has anybody tried ringing Orange and asking them to set up a fax line? I wouldn't necessarily confuse them with the information that it is for a 9500.
