I am trying to use an A1000 on T-Mobile in the U.S. Everything is working (like email, text messaging, voice...) except the opera browser. The browser "logs in" but hangs "searching" for any web (www or wap) page. Works fine if I have the USB cable hooked up to a networked computer, then I can access the web from the phone.
My question is about 3's walled garden, the phone came "unlocked" from three. Is the restriction to 3's garden built into the phone, or is it restricted by the character of the access point in use?
Thanks for any info.
Ken
I assume you've already deleted the connection profiles for the Three-network and set up a new gprs account for T-Mobile (control panel --> connections --> internet accounts)? In this case, did the browser asked you if you want to use the gprs profile to connect to the internet when he detected that no 3g-network connection is available?

Actually it's not possible to delete or edit the Three-network account, but it's easy to add new ones, and the browser does ask about which one to use. Last night I tried an AT&T SIM with their APN (proxy) and everything worked straight away! It turns out I just need to pay T-Mobile another $10 per month. Apparently they have changed their service and block port 80 (http) for some "classes" of terminal equipment (http works OK on my Nokia 7610, but not on the A1000). Unfortunatly it took third level support at T-Mobile to finally discover I didn't have the right permissions (which also requires the use of a "different" APN (internet2.voicestream.com instead of wap.voicestream.com) go figure...
Thanks for your reply, this is a great group!
