USB DCU-11 connection problem

I have a P800 and a P900, connected via the USB cradel to a laptop with XP Professional SP-2 and PC Suite 3.1.1. When I put the phone in the cradel the arrow icon connects, moves a few times and then stops. when I right-click on the icon and open Link Properties, it properly shows if the phone is connected or not (via COM10). However, when I try to use a phone application or open the Change Phone panel it does not recognize any phone.
It has to do with some software installed on the PC, since I use the same setup on another PC and it all works.
Could anyone point me in the right direction to uncover what interferes with the coonection?

All, I have tried everything. I have recently acquired a P900. Living in Thailand this is the latest, best, etc phone o the market.

The Problem. I have actually tried every bit of advice on the web and still no joy. As has been mention the Phone connection link tells me the phone is actually connected to Port 4 (1). The wizard cannot find the phone neither can anything else. Would somebody please, please help me. I'm no novice with computers, but phones!!!!!! :icon4: HELP 😮 . Thanks... Pete Bangkok (ex-pat)
