Video as Ringtones . . . possible?

5 replies · 2,327 views · Started 16 December 2004

Spotted one of those ringtone companies leaflets you get falling out of every magazine these days. On the back page was a section on video's which would play on screen instead of the normal ringtone. I can't see how this is possible, anyone seen this or know how it may be done? It did have the N-Gage listed as a compatible phone.

i think thats psilocs software called 'vision' that associates videos with contacts.. please correct me if i am wrong

.

Videos as RingTone are possible on handset that are running Symbian Os 6.0 or higher and which are series 60. 'vision' is only one of the softwares that enables this feature.

It is possible to see videos as ringtones (first hand testing) on:
Nokia 3650, 6600 , N-Gage

It should be possible to do so on Nokia 7650 as well.

I don't know if 'vision' is using the internal player of the handset (realone) but if it does then it might prevent the 7650 of running it unless you will install a player on this handset first.

i have tried vision and another VIDcaller software but still cannot get video to work as ringtone for ngage

Shaikuny may i know which sw u used to make video as ringtone?

Hi.
I used the demo version of 'Vision' using a 3gp file as my RingTone.
make sure that you have video-player installed on your n-gage, I suspect that 'vision' is using it for playing back the video.
