It is true.... very very complicated stuff though. There is a site dedicated to wi fi through bluetooth devices. I will have to check my archives. I will find the link soon I hope, that way you can get the real scoop out in the open. 😊
For Series 60 devices prior to version 2.0 (this includes the X) there is simple trick that involves creating a dummy access point.Search the forums for "bluetooth internet sharing" for more details.
well i did a massive search in all the forums and i tried this

Connecting N-gage to the internet via BT using PC's connection without PC Suite
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've read the latest threads on connecting the N-Gage via Bluetooth to the computer in order to use the computers internet connection - thereby surfing "for free". It seems to me that I need to use the PC Suite. But I've found this guide - that doesn't require the use of PC Suite. Do you think it will work just as well?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
To do this you will require a bluetooth adapter for your pc.
1)Install bluetooth software on PC
2)Go to your bluetooth software menu, click on View or modify configuration, click on Local services,
and look at Bluetooth port, click on properties and make sure it starts automaticlly
3)Next set services provided for the N-gage, to use a serial port.
4)ENSURE bluetooth port number on the N-Gage and the PC are IDENTICAL
Hopefully now you should be able to connect to your computer.
The bluetooth icon in your task bar should animate if this is succesful.
To Set up Connection Sharing For the N-Gage -
To to N-Gage settings menu and make a new GPRS connection, here are the settings:
GPRS Connection : When Available
Accesspoint: (your computer's BT name exactly as it is)
After this go the Access Points menu, and make a new access point, here are the settings:
Connection name= (whatever you want to call it)
Data Bearer=GPRS
Access Point name= (your new accesspoint you've just created)
leave everything else at default.
Open Browser and TADA internet
note > If Opera asks you for a connection, choose the bluetooth one

i was able to do a currency/weather update in worldmate on my x , but i couldnt connect to the web with the built-in opera browser(read somewhere that it doesnt work on it) also ghost most of the searchs that i did , didnt help me because in 80% of them u were like" do a search and thou shall find". hope this thread doesnt end up like one of those😊
I assume you have configured the dummy access point correctly? If so,try this trick.
Setup an e-mail account on your device.Connect to your mailbox using the dummy access point and don't close it,just leave it running in the background and switch to the desired application,in your case Opera. When it asks for an access point select the dummy one.I eve n think that there is a setting for for a default access point in Opera.
I hope it works.
i tried it with the email account, it tells me no gprs connection avaliable, when i do it with opera a window pops up tellin me that there is no access point😞 how come i can update worldmate currency/weather then???
a lot of times when i'm using gprs, my phone just turns off in a flash. then reboots automatically.
really strange !
yesterday it happened 3 times in a row and eventually it worked. Later after my opera session, the gprs icon stayed while the gprs connection was long gone ! 😮
speed that didnt really help me, u know:P
