Python for Series 60 Released

3 replies · 4,477 views · Started 22 December 2004

Python (a scripting langauge similar to OPL in many respects, but much more widely used in the real world) is now available for Series 60. The Runtime, Example scripts and Documentation are all available from the Python Page on Forum Nokia. All About Symbian have been watching the Python project now for many months, and we'll be posting a "30 Minutes With Python" over the holidays.

Looks good on my 660 though I couldn't get it to install on my QD. I think like I'll need to get a IR keyboard if I'm really going to get anywhere with it. Need to dust off the python books. Any chance of a Python developer forum?

Are you sure you tried installing the right version? The QD requires the 1st edition version, while the 6600 uses the 2nd edition version.

i'm using a 3650 and python works ok on it. but it would be really nice to be able to knock up scripts using an infra red keyboard.
