Needed

1. Motorola A92X
2. SD Card
3.Fileman or QFileman

Installing APPS on your phone

1. Choose a sis file that you want to use, let's say for example.. you want to use the Personal Paint

2. Move the PersonalPaint.sis file in your SD Card, this should be located in your
D:/Media Files/Other/PersonalPaint.sis. Using your Fileman, you can see it as these: the exact location where you will put it.

3. From your Phone's Launcher Install. click the install button

4. Click the install button and the app will install automatically.

* After a successful installation, do not run your application coz it will lead to error: "in use"

Transferring the Apps on Your External Memory

( this is were our project starts )

1. Using your Fileman ,open your D:\System folder, create another folder you will name Apps.

I am saying another cuz im sure that you already created the D:\System\Install folder. remember where you put that SonyEricsonPlatformID?

these will be your created folder location D:\System\Apps. youll have to create an Apps folder in D:\System

2. Click the C: Directory and look for the files of the newly installed app (Personal Paint) and check if all the installed components are there.

this will be located in C: \System\Apps\PersonalPaint Folder

3. Go Up One Level and you will be prompt to the C\:System\Apps folder
from here, it will be easy to transfer/move the whole folder from C: to D:
just Tick the PersonalPaint folder and click the File

4. Click move and it will automatically prompt you to some different choices.

5. Choose the D cuz this will the the location where we wanted to transfer the folder.

6. If you will open the location in the D. all the file has been moved!

7. At this point, the theory applies that when you click the PersonalPaint.app, it should run. btw, this .app is equivalent of windows, .exe

8. Now, to be able for the Internal memory to be cleared out, you must remove the installed app using the launcher UnInstall. you have to do this so even the .sis file in the C:\System\Install folder will be empty.

Will post later on how to run the apps....

Running your D-Installed Apps Easily

NEEDED

1. Tracker 4.0
2. Attached Skin

This is very tricky but very useful, do you imagine clicking that .app file on your D? well, it's possible to do it but in a very long way. so, Let us cut the way out from it. Hopefully, you already installed the Tracker at this point. This will give you a chance of making a shortcut for the Custom Files. You can use the attached skin as your Skin.

From the Application List, we can add the Custom File using your own icon.. one of the needed PC apps is the Paint, you can create your own just like what i did. So, creating shortcut will be easy. this is how to do it.

1. In the Attached skin, select the application list page.

2. Press your D-Pad Center Button and the Menu will Pop-Up.

3. Press the Desktop

4. Click the Create Shortcut and this will prompt you to Create Shortcut wizard.

Select the Custom File amongst the List, and Tick the Use Custom Icon, then, set the icon size to: Original Picture Size, then Hit Next.

5. Choose the .app from the list. D:\System\Apps\PersonalPaint\PersonalPaint.app

6. Select the icon image you want to use

7. You can use this icon as the Shortcut for the App installed in D

8. Don't Forget to save the Settings on your Skin Icon

9. Test it!

You can now enjoy the newly installed sis application without compromising the space in your phone's internal memory.

How About Java/Midlets?
Basically, the first thing we will do is to install the app/game using the normal method. then after that:

1. create a new folder in your D, name it MIDlets

2. Transfer/move all the file from the C installed files to D

3. After you've done this. make sure that there are no files left in the C, it will consume space. Use the Launcher UnInstall method.

4. You can't make the MIDlet run at this point, you have to edit the java locator in the D:\System\Apps\[101efde8]\[101efde8].txt (edit the file using your PC notepad)

5. Follow the method on how to make short cuts for the custom file.

AND VOILA!

hi !

i have been testing r3enpogis memcard-trick, and found som more tricks,
here are "my" installation guide:
---------------------------------------------------------------

about installation on memory-card:

what you need:
a filemanager, the best is maybe fileman ?
you also need tracker + stacker if you really want to make things "easy"+ save some bytes

preparation:
use a filemanager, go to d:\, create a new directory "system",
goto "system", make directory "apps"
if you dont have it already...

installation:
for example program (application) xyz;

1. do a normal installation
2. copy the app-directory from c: to d: ( c:\system\apps\xyz )
3. goto d:\system\apps\xyz
4. click on xyz.app to start it, if it DONT start, then it cant be "installed" on memorycard
move the files back to c:, finished !

5. goto c:, delete all FILES in directory xyz ( c:\system\apps\xyz ), NOT the xyz-DIRECTORY
6. goto d:, try starting it again, if it dont start then do step 9 and try again,
if it still DONT start (AFTER step 9), then it cant be "installed" on memorycard,
move the files back to c:, finished !

7. start tracker, create a shortcut to the app-file, (select custom-file, NOT application, thats ONLY for normal apps on c😊
8. click on the icon, if it starts then you are done !

9. copy the xyz.app-file back to c:\system\apps\xyz
10. click on the icon, if it DONT start, then it cant be started from tracker
11. copy the xyz.aif-file back to c:\system\apps\xyz, if you want to have the icon on tracker

12. you can use stacker to compress the app-files on c:, xyz.app, xyz.aif,
BUT as you can see for yourself, if you try it, it is NOT worth it with such small files, it gets bigger after compression
the steps above CAN be use to "install" programs bigger then 16 byte

for example i have the golf-game fairway on d:, the app-file is 57k !

it seems to me that "small" app-files with a "big" jar/data-file can be installed this way,

you can save ALOT with this "trick" !

for example i put the game galaxy-wing on d:
app=16 b, total=324,22 k, app-files on c: = 1,48 k

the golf-game fairway on d:, the app-file=57k, total=516,82 k
app-file on c: after compression=26,99 k !
(there seems to be some problems with the program however, as it crashes, but thats another story...)

by doing this for some programs i got about 800 k free on c:

nice saving...

my programs on d:
fairway, fileme, galaxywing, jrc4, jtext, jsolun ( app=16 b, jar-file 334 k ! ), jzip, zipper

you can also save some bytes=60 k, by putting netfronts help-files (html) on d:
but then you have to change the settings for your homepage to d: so nf can find them

good luck !

/scannerman

I have copied my apps to the memory card using both methods and created a shortcut to the apps but when I clicking on the icon I recive a message "Acess Denied" (Sorry for my english)

hi !

"I have copied my apps to the memory card using both methods..."

"both methods" ???

sorry, i dont understand what you mean ?

eric_petersson wrote:tried all the above steps , for copying my files to the memcard but it wont work. :frown:

Remember that this method will only work for a very few selected games and applications. Most likely you've tried to mvoe one of the vast majority of games that doesn't work on D:.
