Chinese characters on the 7650 anyone?

I'd like to write a Chinese learning program for the 7650 (English model). Does anyone know of a straightforward and memory-efficient way of using a Chinese font in a Java program?

There's someone in this forum have change it's language to Chinese.. that's mean the whole phone write and read chinese text.

But once you change to chinese text, then no way to change back becos' once you have chinese texts, you will not be able to write or read any English texts anymore... so... what's the point changing it?

I am currently using a 7650C (chinese version). I would like to correct Edgedale that with the chinese version u can still read or write english sms and text. Only the system menu are all in chinese. Those software that u install eg. SeleQ,Task Manager or Screen Saver will still be in english.

is there any software that allows u to read the normal chinese that being used in normal nokia phones?while the system is still in english..
i just need to be able to read what other's sent me..

But hmmm.. gimyam.. According to the information that i've got from Nokia Care Singapore was that there's still no official release or any dates being set for the upgrade support for the chinese.

So i guess your upgrade wasn't done at Nokia Care? (If its so, i guess that your warrenty will be void. 😮ops: )

Thanks for the feedback. But please do a search on this thread. There was a user in HK change his phone's OS to chinese just to read Chinese text, but after he change and wish to write english text, the OS disallow him to do so. Nokia have not release Chinese OS yet for 7650. It's in the forum too. Please do a search on it b4 making it an assumption.

I did a screen capture of my 7650 using sms. U can see for yourself that u can enter both english and chinese at the same time.

Hmmm interesting.. one question, can your english text able to uset he T9 Dictionary? Did the technician from Nokia Care Centre do the upgrade for your?

Perhaps can you PM me such information, coz we (moderators) are compiling all information for a new FAQ in this forum.
