wheever i load any games/software that sis file gets automatically copied to the root directory of c: . can i delete them or do i need to keep them for the game/software to work properly??
sis files in c drive what 2 do with them?
You need to keep them. When you want to uninstall an app, those .sis files in C: are there to make the uninstall process work.
Phew, thanks for warning me, was about to delete them!

This is wrong! The Install-Process copies a Uninstall-SIS-File in the C:/System/install Directory. The Install-SIS in the root of C: can you delete after install.
actually thats true. i just uninstalled a software & the sis file was still there in C:. i then tried deleted an sis of a software thats still installed & the started the software, it sorked. i then uninstalled it & it uninstalled properly without a problem.
so , what i think is that when u install a software, the PC send some details to the phone & then u have to complete the install from the phone itself, this is the info it sends it, which can be deleted without any problems.
Fact is: Delete the Install-SIS File after Installation. Uninstall is possible wihtout this File (from the ContolPanel). At least German devices.

I know, and that's the file I meant.

You shouldn't have any .sis file on the root of C:. If you do, you can of course delete it without any precautions. I thought HyPeR meant the .sis files in the System/install directory on C:.
All .sis files end up in the root if you install something! The only thing the PC Suite actually does is copy the sis-install file to the root of the 9500 and runs the sis on the 9500 itself automatically after that.
Anyway, glad that I can delete these files!
You're right of course. Don't know where my head was today, must've been all that eggnog... 🙄
Lol 😃 No problem Raven, enjoy your Christmas! :santaclau
SIS files are install packages for symbian devices. They contain the file to copy to the proper directories and some settings to be set. When you run SiS files the installation application in the device processes it. Creates the uninstall info and copies the files. Like the .MSI files for windows.
Wipe them out. You dont need them anymore after installation.
Hey Hyper, if you would like to remove these automatically go to Control Panel -> Data Management -> Application manager -> Preferences -> Delete source file after installation (set this to yes). This way it will automatically delete the .sis files after installing the application.
Enjoy !
