i just tried downloading a 2.5MB MP3 file from the net, i opened WEB put in the exact link address & the 9500 download save screen came up, i selected the memory card as the location & started the download, using my EDGE connection.
in less than 4 mins i was at 90% download complete & then suddenly the phone hung & restarted, WIERD. anyways will try again & give you the eact time for a 2.5 MB file. i think 5mins for a 2.5MB file on EDGE would be pretty good.
what do you say??
EDGE downloads...
Did you have enough free memory to the location you were downloading to? Or maybe it just happened, phones do crash sometimes. Try downloading again and see what happens.
@hyper
here in the UK using the 3G service of Three I can regularly download 1mb of video files in 30 seconds and therefore on this basis 2.5mb should take less than 2 minutes. The download speed of 3G is around 348kbps
i tried again & this time it took me a few seconds over 3 mins to download a 2.5MB MP3. i guess edge & 3g services have the same speeds. maybe it should be faster though, cause i can tell this is not the correct speed when i browse the web. will have to call ORANGE today!!

WCDMA 2100 (3G) - Maximum download 384kbps; upload 128kbps
EGPRS (EDGE) (Class B, Multislot class 10) - Maximum download 236.8kbps; upload 118.4kbps
Note that these figures are the maximum speed possible to achieve on those networks. Real life speed can differ quite a bit depending on things like coverage and network traffic etc.
