I'm a new user here, although I've been visiting for almost two years. This is a great community and I'm more and more into Symbian so I guess it was about time I joined 😃
Anyway, I bought a 9500 last week. It's an absolutely marvelous device. A little on the slow side but overall excellent. After a week of use however, I still haven't found out whether one can assign voice tags to contacts in order to initiate calls with voice commands. I cannot find any reference to such a feature in the manual, the phone itself, this forum or even Nokia's site for that matter. Could someone help me out please? I really hope Nokia doesn't expect us to take The Brick (TM) :tongue: out of its carrying case every time we need to make a call.

First of all, welcome to the club!
Unfortunately Nokia left out voice dailling. However there are already people working on a (free) third party app that will make it possible. But I must admit, a bit stupid of Nokia to leave it out!

Thanks for your reply Delta. Do you have any idea when this app would be available? I'm not sure we can expect Nokia to include this feature in the next firmware release...
IIRC it's an open-source project, already available in beta (will look-up the link later on for you).

But I didn't remember correctly. It's not freeware, and I'm not sure if it already runs on 9500... Not so sure how good this actually is :redface:

Hi guys, I've just become the proud owner of the 9500 and was happily surprised to see my old Psion software coupled with the Nokia phone.............great system. However, why did Nokia not bundle the voice tag software is beyond me?? :frown: Anyway, just read that the software is available but I cannot see if anyone has tried it???
Before I buy does anyone know if it works??

I checked out their website - they're saying that the program does not work for the 9500/9300 series, but they are supposedly working on something. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see.

Agnos, thank you for the reply. Has anyone tried any voice recognition software for the 9500?
On another subject. I am recently experiencing software hangs, frequently! It only occurs when my unit is paired through blue tooth to my hands free set. Is anyone else having the same problems?? 🙄
