31 replies · 7,060 views · Started 25 December 2004

Well its pretty simple, if they are the nokia set then, you plug them in, you go to Real Player or watever MP3 player you have, then you press play!! if they are not comptible then when you plug them in the phone will say "Enhancement Not Recognised" or sometin like that!!

Hope this helps!!

yea i no that . wot i wont to no is if there is any way to listen to my MP3 thro my headphones. coz when i plug in the headphones the loudSP is still working.
So if there is any way to listen to MP3 thro headphones plz tell me. 😎

o!! :S on my phone the sound automatically comes into the headfones automatically, wat MP3 player are you usin?? it might be the settings inside there or in the enchancement settings on the phone

well i use the normal 1 that came with the phone and it dont work so i got Ultra MP3
ant it still dont work.
😡

hmmm! i use to use tht as well! When your headset is connected then go to Connectivity -> Conn. Mgr. then you should be able to edit the settings!

ok when i do that nothing is there it says (no active connections) :icon13:

ok!!?? im confused!! :S anybody else's point of view on this?? mine jst works perfectly, and this sometimes happens to me when the headphones are not properly plugeed in, make sure you hear 2 cliks, as there are 2 little tabs!!

Did you test the headset before ? Are you able to use it while talking to some one ? If not your headphone might be faulty, best bet is take your phone & the headphone to Nokia centre.

can anyone provide me with a list of compatible headsets. i would prefer two ear plugs and dont mind third party ones (for cheapness).

really want to use my 7610 as an MP3 player but this headset http://www.nokia.com/BaseProject/Sites/NOKIA_MAIN_18022/CDA/Categories/Phones/Enhancements/Audio/Headsets/_Content/_Static_Files/350-303_popup.jpg
doesnt seem to work

mine say "enhancement not supported" when i plug it in but when i play somet it comes out of the speakers (as normal) but also through one of the ear buds.

i obviously just want it to come out of the ear buds (both of them).

that happens to me when i use Ultra MP3 but only some times tho 😮

yes the headphones work

but the sound comes out from the headphones and the LoudSP and some times only the loudSP. i wont it to come out only from the headphones :banghead:

so what headphones are being used successfully by others?

seems silly to have the music playing capability and not be able to use it.

These headphones arent compatible with the N7610!!! that is way it dont wrk!! the only headphones it is compatiablt with is the ones tht came with the phne, which is the single headphones one!! that is y it dont wrk!!

Not sure if this still stands but there was/is no official nokia dual mono headset for the 7610. So the only way to listen to tunes is by making your own convertor or buying one off ebay. That way you can use a pair of headphones and listen to music in both ears. Note its not stereo because the 7610 is not a stereo handset but dual mono is alright, there is no software to fix this.

The ones on ebay are a bit better than the one I made. But mine was loads cheaper. I chopped the end of my headphones off and soldered them into the pop port adapter. This is ok but is permenant so I cant use the headphones for anything else. The ones I saw on ebay had a socket so you can plug any headphones in.

some great help there mate, thanks very much. gonna hop over to ebay right now.

with these converter things does it stop the sound coming out of the speaker?

i got the white headphones now. the headphones that come this N7600 and they for fine 😃

hey u guys if u think there is a problem wid ur fone u should probably check with nokia like wat i did. the reason y nokia stereo headsets dont work properly is bcoz they r not compatible with the 7610. nokia has not released a compatible headset 4 it yet!

hey u guys should check wid nokia if u think theres something is wrong like i did. the reason y headsets dont work with the 7610 is bcoz they havent released a compatible headset 4 it, they're still in the process of making 1, jus coz its pop-port doesnt mean its gonna work.

Yeah mine is sound. With the phones plugged in sound only comes out the phones and not speaker. The only thing that is annoying and is probably because of my dodgy soldering, I have to take the headphones out when I receive a call. Thats because I dont have a button on my phones to answer/end the call.

is this the kind of thing you mean?

Yeah I think so, I got mine from mobilefun it looked a bit different though. With that one there I don't think you'll have to to chop any wires off and do any soldering which is always a bonus. From what I've read on here though you wont be able to plug your headphones straight in. You have to plug them in half way and wiggle them about a bit until you get sound in both ears. Then use some insulation tape to secure it in place.

Have a search for stereo, pop port, dual mono on here and you should find out some more info.

It really pi55es me off that there isn't anything official for the 7610. It comes with real player and has the ability to play loads of mp3's/ogg's but there are no dual mono headphones that are supported. The phone should have been stereo, in this day and age who wants mono?

thanks lads, loads of great help there.

it is a shame they have taken so long in developing working headphones, suppose they are pushing the sales of bluetooth stuff.

I suppose Nokia Dual Headsets only support Stereo and maybe that's why you don't see any dual type among 7610 compatible headsets. (http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,54703,00.html)
