I tried Sony Erisson T630 via BT to my HP 1940 or Dell D505 notebook, it works fine able act as BT modem dial in to my office network (Microsoft dial up networking).
But it said "no modem" when I use Nokia 6260 to dial.
Nokia technical people said it did support but need activated modem via Nokia centre? Is this true? Or the truth is Nokia 6260 no built in modem like Sony Erisson T630 able support Dial Up Networking?
Does anyone try this b4?
I think you have to install BT modem driver. Go to www.nokia.com and search for Nokia 6260 support/software page
I did install (BT modem driver) it to my notebook but still doesn't work.
See? For Sony T630, not necessary to install anything. From my PDA just point to BT Modem and it able to connect dial up to my server.
But for 6260, it said no modem. The result was my Nokia 6260 can't even dial the destination dial-up number.
I found this topic inside Nokia PC Suite v 6.4, "Using your phone as a modem".
According to the help file, it "should" or "will" work as Nokia 6260 as a dial-up modem via infrared/BT/USB/serial.
But, my result still fail. Worst it can't even pick the destination no to dial....
