i got a vodafone x [unlocked] from ebay, and it seems to work fine, but i'm on Virgin mobile, and on the Now! screen it shows my network as being t-Mobile. occasionally it changes to Virgin, but most of the time it shows as tmobile. As i said, the phone works perfectly, with no problems, i can send text messages and make/receive calls ok.
i was just wondering if anybody else on Virgin experienced this. i wouldnt say its a problem, as the phone works fine, its just it shows up as being on the wrong network. i would test it, to see if its something to do with my phone, or just the virgin sim card, but i dont know anyone else with an X , and all my freinds are on virgin...

As you said, it's not a phone fault.
I'm not quite sure how the Virgin network gets detected (as Virgin actually uses T-Mobile's network), but presumably it's something on the SIM card which tells the phone to say Virgin rather than T-Mob.
You'll need someone with more knowledge of how these things get reported to tell you anymore I'm afraid...

As far as I know both "Virgin" and "B.T.mobile" lease their lines/network off of T-mobile,hence it displaying "T-mobile" from time to time.

Yes they do, but as I said, there's something (presumably on the SIM) which tells the phone to display Virgin rather than T-Mobile.
I'm on Virgin, and with the original eXpansys firmware it would show T-Mobile UK for a few seconds, and then switch to Virgin. With the new firmware (1.98) it never shows Virgin - only T-Mobile UK.
