My SMS-es are automatically deleted after 24 hours or when my phone is switch off. I've compare the settings with friends and they are the same and theirs (other models/brands) do not have this problem.
I have tried to see if it's possible to set SMS to SIM card but that's not possible as well.

Sounds very strange. I've never heard of such behaviour with any phone. Have you installed some application software that automatically manages your SMS, or something?
Do you use Lifeblog?

Help please.... i have a lot of trouble with a 6260 i got my boyfriend for birthday two months ago. Initially there was the known bug (confirmed by Nokia) that SMS would randomly be deleted after the phone had crashed and the battery had to be removed (which occured daily). Nokia confirmed that this is a bug.
However there were other bugs, and finally Nokia got the equipment necessary to flash the phone - i took it there two days ago, and they screwed it even further!
First of all a "upgrade" went awry - the techie said that after flashing a newer version "the phone would not turn on" so they flashed it again with the old, original version of the firmware. So far so good - same old bugs.
But now here too - ALL SMS ARE GONE AFTER THE PHONE WAS TURNED OFF. That includes SMS in "own folders" and created folders. Regardless how the "log" is set. And there is NO THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE WHATSOEVER on that 6260, it is still virgin original Nokia, not even themes installed besides the originals! The only changes made are operator logo and wallpaper.
PLEASE if someone knows a solution, let me know too - this is driving us nuts here since Nokia is aparently still unable to actually UPGRADE the firmware, two months after the phone has been released to the market!
Oh and the firmware version (before AND AFTER the flashing) is

Now my "wondering" got answered. Yup! I also encountered that before.. my SMSes automatically deleted but in my case, it's NOT ALL.
For example, if i have 75 messages, then let's say my phone got low batt or was turned off, my messages will be only 10 or 11 after the phone was turned on.
However, it is also quite weird that after i'm using this phone for 1 month now, i did not experience it anymore.. Maybe i wasn't removing my battery yet? Well i'll try it later.
Sound scary ya... duno will happen to my 6260 o not.

Phone did asking "Need restart, OK?" many times due to the stupid sim card dirty, and i just follow but no sms deleted.
2day will try it after full sync.
