Pairing a Bluetooth Head Set

17 replies · 5,752 views · Started 29 December 2004

Everytime I turn on the bluetooth reception on my Nokia 9500 and want to connect to the bluetooth head set, Why am I required to re-pair my bluetooth head set. Everytime I am required to feed in my passcode.

Cant we save this passcode or link it to a profile

Any Suggestions.

Tools > Control Panel > Connections > Blueetooth > Paired Devices

choose the appropriate Headset then Edit > Device Authorised > Yes

and you won't have to enter the passcode anymore, because it's now authorized 😃 😃

hery

Thanks for the tip....I am able to skip the passcode process while pairing....however I am still required to go to the control panel and then navigate to connections and then to bluetooth. On reaching the bluetooth menu I am required to press the connect button to enable the head set which is a painfull task. On enabling the bluetooth, the system should recognize the default headset and connect to the same.

Any more Tips ?????

Hmm... which HeadSet do you have? I have the Nokia HDW-3 and when I turn it on it connects to my Nokia 9500 all by itself (of course I first turned Bluetooth on the 9500 on). In case I have BlueTooth off on my 9500 and turn the HeadSet on, I turn then the Bluetooth on 9500 on and click on the on/off button of the HeadSet which connects it the to my 9500. 😃 😃

I have a Nokia Bluetooth Carkit and I also thought I had to mission to control panel then bluetooth and connect to the carkit, until I found out all I have to do is switch bluetooth on which is easy with the shortcut key and press the carkit button which sends a signal to the phone asking it to connect, I'm sure a bluetooth headset is as easy as pressing its button.

Can anyone please help me with the re-connection procedure of a Bluetooth headset with the Nokia 9500.
After I have paired my Bluetooth Headset with the Nokia 9500, why is it required to go to the control panel to re-connect to the headset.
Is there any headset which can be set as the default headset similar to the P900.
We not need to pair the two devices again or go to the control panel to get them connect.
On a P900, all you need to do is to turn on the Bluetooth on the Phone and it automatically connects to the default headset.

Can anyone pease help with the Bluetooth re-connection procedure ????

@pankajxmathur

Which BT headset are you using?

If you continue to have problems with automatic connections (I start BT first on my 9500 then I switch on my BT headset, which then "looks" for the 9500 and connects) delete the device from the BT device list and re-bond and see if that helps (and don't forget to set the auto authorisation).

I can tell you the SE HBH-35 works fine but the HBH-200 does not (a bit unstable in maintaining the connection).

From my HeadSet Manual (HDW-3):

About connecting to phone:

"Note that switching on the headset creates the connection automatically only if you have se the phone to accept Bluetooth connection requests without your permission. In Nokia phones this can be done by changing your paired devices setting in the Bluetooth menu".

About default paired phone:
"The phone that was first paired with the headset is called the default phone."

So, to resume:

1. Turn on Bluetooth on phone
2. Turn on headset
3. Pair the devices
4. Authorize headset (mentioned in my previous post)

The problem is that when you have the headset on, but the phone bluetooth off, in order to have an automatic connection you have to turn off headset, turn on bluetooth on the phone and then the headset, which then gets automatically connected to phone. This is the procedure I use, but this also depends on the headset you use.

hope I could help,
hery

Found it!!!

Ok, in order to automatically connect the headset to the phone (in the situation when the headset is alredy on and you turn BT on your phone on), for my headset (HDW-3), you have to press the answer button of the headset for about 2-3 secs and the headset then gets connected to the phone. I think that the "switch call between phone and headset feature" of my headset is responsible for that (although I can't disconnect it in that manner), so you have to check your headset if you have such a feature or just try to hold the answer button for 2-3 secs.

hope I helped,

Hi, guys!

I'm using the Jabra BT-250 Bluetooth headset.
Works fine with my Cli UX50 for sound,
works with 9500 for video sound and MP3,
but won't work as a phone headset. It connects, recognizes, everything, only, it doesn't work.
And yeah, before taking your time, I tried everything on this thread and more (settings).
I was just wondering if someone experienced the same and can confirm this model really doesn't work.

Many thanks - vielen dank - grazie mille - balshoye spassiba - Domo arigato - Merci beaucoup!

You forgot the "multumesc mult" and the "Hartelijk bedankt"

The Jabra 250 works great for me , but sometimes ( it think twice) it did not.
Whil switching on the 250 no response from the phone.

Then:
1. I deleted the Jabra from the 9500 blutooth list ( did you do that Polyglot?)
2. switched off the Jabra and then kept the button for at least 8 seconds.
3. selected "new" at paired devices tab.
4. did the pairing (0000) and took care that "deviced authorised" was on "Yes".

I think ( this time) it is the Jabra and not the 9500, because I "played"a little bit with it, trying to use it as a headset on a different phone.
But... if 1 till 4 does not work I will eat your headset ( with some salt of course)

i have an older HBH 30 which works fine on my SE T630, but on my nokia 9500, its pairs properly, ive set it to authorised but when i receive a call & i press pick up button on the HBH 30, the little brackets around the BT icon on the 9500 come on & then off again... i just cant take any calls with it... any ideas???? or its just not compatible.

The HBH30 has the Headset profile only, while the 9500 has Handsfree profile only. So it means not compatible unfortunately

thanks a ton for that... i was wondering..i tried everything & nothing worked. i think i'll wait & get the new jabra with caller ID & vibrate function & ringtones buitl in.

I have an even older HBH 20 which I'm trying to use on my 9500. The pairing and everything goes fine and even the device authorised is checked off. However, when I try to connect, it simply refuses. I''ve done this several times and still no luck...

Any thoughts??
