i tried to backup my x today, but whenever i try, it comes up with ' the backup failed. Failed to analyse differences between your device and your PC' can anyone help?

if it helps, its an unlocked Vodafone device, using X 1.63.1.2 firmware. the only apps i installed sice i last backed it up were FExplorer, and Powerball [from the siemens SX1 site http://communications.siemens.com/cds/frontdoor/0,2241,hq_en_0_11835_rArNrNrNrN_1%253AUK_3%253A15803_4%253AT-Mobile_5%253A82717_catextsk%253Aactgosub,00.html?

has anyone else had this problem, or should i just reset the device, and restore from the last backup that worked?

Hi Provided that your pc connect detected the sendo when connected with the usb cable, the only other thing I can think of is maybe your backup files on your computer is corrupt. Try copying the backup files to another location and making a fresh backup on your computer.

Have you tried backing up your phone to a memory card? its more reliable.

hope this helps

i tried copying the backup files to anothe location, but it didnt make a difference.

i have backed up the phon onto my Sd card, but i've found out that in addition to not being able to back up the phone using PC Connect, i cant use the file browser either... when i do, it comes up with 'Failed to access device: My Sendo X for browsing. The System cant Find The Path Specified'

i know that Pc Connect is detecting the phone when i connect it via USB, because i set it to backup everytime i connect the phone, so now whenever i connect the phone, it starts to back up then comes up with the error message i mentioned before.

Ok When you have connected your phone with pc connect, go into the backup section and click on settings, make sure that the Memory Card Drive E doesn't have a tick beside it (if it does untick it). The only drive that should be ticked is Drive C this should allow you to backup your phone memory normally now without the error message showing.
I don't know why the software throws up an error when a memory card is set to be backed up, maybe its a bug in software. You can always backup the card seperatly using the browser.

If the above doesn't help, I suspect it might be a driver problem as you say you can't access the phone using the built in pc connect file browser, uninstall the sendo x driver when the phone is plugged in (it will be listed under ports on winxp) under device manager. Then reinstall driver then try again to use file browser if this fails to work, then the only other option I can think of is to uninstall pc connect reboot and then install pc connect again.

Check the backup settings first as you don't want to do something drastic if you don't have to.
