Hi People,

For those of you who are new to this,

http://www.allabouter6.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3256

FileOp is a simple file viewer as of the moment, I plan to develop it further and add more features until it becomes ..... (I am not sure yet, but maybe something 'like' Seleq)

In this thread I wish to discuss with everyone, how I am progressing with the development and what are the issues being tackled. If someone can help me out GREAT!!. Otherwise, it will be journal others can look up some time.

On J2TheIzzo's Advice, I have taken up List style navigation on a priority basis (This was intended, but would have been down the line).
The next release (probably 0.2 ver) would include list style navigation. I am thinking of supporting multiple views (sorta like Norton Commander) so that copying files is easier, I will have to look into that though..

I am having a little bit of trouble setting the text font in an CAknSingleStyleListBox.. Doesnt seem to change the font at all thought a normal CEikTextListBox works with font change (but for some strange reason the highlight of current item doesnt work 😞 )

So hopefully I shall have these issue sorted out soon, I am getting some icons made too so that the application looks professional. I am planning to keep the label that displays file properties.

If someone has some ideas that need to be implemented, can you please post them here ?? (Apart from the usual Cut, Copy Paste functionality 😊 )

Finally! I have got a list box up and running, just need to port the navigation stuff over to this architecture. But still unsatisfied with listbox performance since there seems to be an undesirable column line if there are lesser number of items.. How can this be fixed???

Going to try a few things.
Hopefully this version will be ready for release today.

Finally a fully qualified 0.2 release. The major change being that the archaic text box navigation is dumped for a neat list style interface (suspiciously looking like S***Q 😉 )

I wanted to add features like multiple directory browsing, and copy and paste but had to spend so much time just getting the list box running the right way.. (The CAkn classes seem to rigid and impossible to use).

I have removed the feature of the file properties (Hidden etc as well as Open flag). If you want it I can enable it in the future release. ?? Your comments.

In the next major version (I expect to release in 4 days time) should have the rudimentary copy/paste/delete etc (Basic File Op's 😊 ).
And also the previously promised Hex view.

I am sorry to those who expected these features in this release, unfortunately the problems faced were unexpected 😞.

Well my four days are over, but I am getting there to a release, though I am not quite sure what features to include ?? Let me see. I hope to release in a couple of days (I was down with the flu)....

Updated the original post to include the progress to next version (0.2). This will have list style browsing, hopefully should be released on Tuesday (22nd Oct 2002).

It's nice to see an app in progress, I don't want to bog you down or further the release date. But what about a Rename function in a later release?

Just something to think about. Also handy for chaning OPLOGO when you have CUT/PASTE finished.

Keep us posted 😃

JIZZO (Happy Muffy?) 😃

Thanks, JIZZO 😊.. I hope Muffy doesnt insist I become t2k 😊 (actually cool I think 😃)..

In then next version I plan to add the following:

File Operations:
Cut / Copy / Paste
Rename / Delete
New Folder
Properties. (minimal for now)

Apart from the rudimentary view.
Modest but functional ?

Firstly, I am sorry for disappointing so many of you over the last couple of weeks with a delayed release. I have moved to sydney and have had trouble settling down. My laptop screen broke, optus wouldnt connect to appartments, telstra said they would get back 😞....

Finally, telstra tell me.. 'oh! your phone has been active for the last week.. (with no bloody instrument on it and no advise of activation).'

I have gotten the phone, I am getting a monitor today and hopefully will be up and running soon, I am not going to promise you guys anything but I will try my best and surprise you.

Please bear with me.

Rooooaaaar........thats what my :robot: say,if i tell him this...

so,lets :bday: us again, your little
