I got my QD in August, and the rubber ring is coming away now, so I was wondering if anyone else had replaced the ring and casing. I've found parts on a few websites priced between 20 and 25, and there seem to be 2 colours available, Black (Part No CC-195 - red ring, black/silver buttons with red type) and Light Blue (Part CC-196 - blue ring, blue/silver buttonswith orange type). Has anyone had these, and are there other colours available? I googled a few part numbers like CC-194 and CC-197 but it didn't show up any other colours.
I've looked in phone accessory shops, but their fascias are all cheap quality and just the front facing, buttons and battery cover. I'm asking about colours because when the QD was launched, Edge magazine ran an article which shown lots of different colours like red, blue, pink, purple, green etc and I have only found blue and black available :frown:
I too am looking for a rubber ring replacement. Cant imagine no other 3rd party company hasnt comeout with a replacement for just this part. All the sites i've seen, there is only the official ngage replacement cover mentioned above (red or blue). If anyone has any info on this, please PM me. Getting tired of superglueing my ring to my phone. 😞 thanks
go to ebay. they have a bunch. and they seem pretty good quality too. www.ebay.com
Based on what i've seen it seems as it won't be easy installing the rubber ring yourself.
My suggestion is that if your QD's still under warranty, bring it to the nearest Nokia Care Centre, they'll give you a brand new rubber ring plus installation free.

yeah i have the same problem with that rubber ring...😞 i tried to glue it but it hasn't help... i've searched an ebay for it and i found nothing... i dont think that there's on the market that ring... i think nokia should correct it cause they made this part very bad but i doubt they care of it...
Don't bother replacing the rubber ring. The ring actually consists of an inner hard plastic ring and the outer rubber ring glued onto the plastic. No matter how careful you are the rubber will separate from the plastic, and it will separate at the power button place.
When my first ring broke (after 1 month of use) I replaced the cover and the ring with the blue colored genuine cover. After replacing it I never pressed the power button at all, and the rubber still separated from the plastic after about 3 months.

I face the same problem as you guys, but i got the replacement rubber from Nokia Care Center for SGD $8.20. But they only have black in color. 😊
