:frown: In august i' ve bougt a sendox that unfortunately was stolen from me in november. Now i've bought a second sendoX and i wanted to restore the previous backup (especially contacts)to the new device..... but i can't because i get this error message :" restore failed the error is 0x80070057 ".
Now i would like to know why i can't get back my contacts and what can i do. PS I've installed the latest version of the phone software and PCCONNECT. :frown:

Are you using a firewall? If so, deactivate it and install the latest USB driver from the sendo website then retest.

I believe that when you do a backup of the Sendo X to your PC the 'ID' of the 'c:' drive is stored with the backup, when you do a restore it checks that you are restoring back to the phone/drive from which it came (presumably to prevent fraud where some might download games & then restore them to multiple phones).

Your new phone will have a different ID to the old one & therefore will refuse to restore. I am not sure if there is a way round this by selectively restoring parts of the backup (Contacts, then applications then files) perhaps.

Perhaps plinkykev can shed some further light?

 well in sendoPCCONNECT there is the possibility to restore from a backup of a phone (with a xx ID [xx s for exemple]) to another sendo (with other ID [Es yyy]), infact it doesn't say i can't but it instead it gives error. I've tried to restore everything, only contacts and so on but with no results. I 've written the same question on sendo on line support but i'm still waiting tany answer...

It's certainly possible to restore from one phone to another, I've done it many times.

If you're experiencing errors, try de-selecting the memory card's drive letter from the backup / restore selections, and select the "restore only these items" checkbox, and ensure everything is selected. This should fix the problem.
