Can you have more than one document & sheet open at the same time and switch from one to the other without having to close and reopen, as it was possible in the 5mx or Revo?

I was playing with the 9500 in a Vodaphone store this afternoon. I created 3 word documents and tried to switch from one to the other but each time I had to close the document before being able to see the next one. As I don't know this machine, may be I did not find the way of doing what I was trying to do. How do you do this, please?
As for office files, you cannot open them all at the same time. The forground file is closed first before you can open another office file.
Too bad. This is a regression compared to the Epoc OS for the Psions where we could have several documents open at the same time and just switch from one to the other by clicking the Word or Sheet button. Very convenient indeed.
It IS possible (although it is a bit of a workaround).
Say for example, you want to have a new text document open, but also want another text document (from where you might want to copy some text or something) opened, let's call it "Test.doc":
1) Open Documents, if you didn't have an existing document open, you'll get an empty document
2) Now, go to Desk (do NOT close Documents!!), go to the File Manager and open Test.doc
3) Click on Menu. If you look at the "Task"-menu (left to the File-menu) you'll see all apps still running, INCLUDING Test.doc AND the empty document you had opened! Now you can switch between them (and if you want more files open, just go back to step 2 and repeat it) 😃
Thank you very much for this. I'll go try it in the store where I tried the machine, because I don't own one yet. This would be a great improvement compared to my Sony UX-50.
Firstly you need to open more than one file - Delta's file manage option does this niely ( i have the File Manager on my "My Button" on the task bar. Now if you press MENU at any time and look at he far lefrt icon (or press "1"😉 you'll get a list of open files withmore than one word doc.
You can also press DOCUMENTS to cycle through the open Doc files.... ditto for sheet.
This looks very much like the procedure I used in my old Psions 5mx, Revo etc...
