Yesterday, my three-months-old state of the art 7610 switched itself off, and doesn't want to turn on again. I've tried everything: new battery, SIM change, etc, with no success. The more I can get from it is a white screen with the nokia logo, and after a couple of seconds, it switches off itself again, but most of the times I press the on/off button and nothing happens.
Anybody has had the same problem?
This is great shit, as I'm in the middle of my holidays, with no phone at all, no camera (I had taken almost 400 in 15 days), and the perspective of having lost my contacts (all saved to the phone), some pics, some software, etc.... and over all, knowing that I will not have my phone until I return to england, have sent the phone to factory and wait for a replacement. And, over all, I was soooooo happy with this phone that I just can't stand being without it. I'm dreading that it's not a well-built phone, as I've found a couple of cases like mine googling my problem.
have you got water into the phone?
or have you charged your handphone?
i have this problem with my 7650 when i dropped it into a drain.. just leave it under the sun with the LCD facing down. this will take most of the water out... make sure all your batteries, SIM card and cover are removed.
if else fails, RMA it to nokia
Try To Format you Phone you Phone will ok but u will loss all the data.
See the "Thread Full Formating"

Problem solved!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot to all of you, I was in real dispair.... I haven't sun to put it under, so I gave it a good hairdryer job... and worked!!!! as ever!!!
The bad thing is... in really humid or wet weather, you have to be extra-careful with the phone, as talking under the rain could really do some damage to the phone.... anyway.... right now I'm the happiest man in my house.
And again, thanks a lot to you all, guys!!!!
Really helpful. I owe you one.

Well, after 7-8 days of "repairing" my phone, I can tell that it's not as it used to be. It's sometimes much slower than before, and it still turns itself off sometimes, and it's hell to turn it on back again. Think I'm gonna send it to repair.
Anybody can help on this?
You need to RMA it. Thats phone's toast sorry to say.

Well, after coming back to London after my holidays in Spain, my phone's back to normal, except for a "App. Closed Main" error everytime I receive a sms.
Could it be that London's weather is better for my phone than the spanish one?
haha.. thats a good one dookados.. were u on roaming? or did u get a spanish sim? maybe the spanish sim was better for ur phone.. App errors r very common in my phone now, they mostly happen when i eat up the RAM alot, i restart it and its back to normal.. if this continues im afraid i will have to agree with silkshadow..

Yeah, I had a spanish SIM card, but that was the one which was in my phone when it went AWOL. Strange thing, this... state-of-the-art mo screwed up because of moisture... so you'd better find a good cover before answering the phone in the street when it's raining, neither grab it after having a cold pint in you hands....
Things are that my home town in Spain is much wetter than London, so there's a lot of moisture floating around in the air.... not to talk about the sea breeze....
By the way... what does RMA stand for?
return merchandise authorization... it means to get it replaced.. right?
btw.. if u would like to know any other meaning of RMA, heres the link 😉
