Hi there thanks for looking up my post, :icon14:
When I boot my phone and after having the phone on and in stand by for less than 1 minute the phone backlight will go out then back on and then the phone will restart it self with the error message "The phone has Restarted to improve performance" then it just loops and occasionally would lock up and id have to remove the battery. 😡
Things to make a note of are:
1. :icon4: The phone will not crash if I turn the phone on and not select weather or not to start in "Flight mode" or just turn on normally. This suggests the phone has a software fault
2. :icon4: I have used many types of resets. I have tried the "Master Reset" Option in the control panel & I have used the format option in the service menu.
3. :icon4: Yea I have tried the update service on SE's web site but my phone is locked to orange and SE give me the error message: Your device is not permitted to use this service Your operator does not approve the use of this service with this device. We look forward to assisting you again soon. Thank you for using the Sony Ericsson Update Service!
I would really appreciate anyones help with this as Im stuck with a practically worthless 450 phone. If you know anyone who might know what to do, please ask them...
Thank you...
Dai Lafing...
Edit: I have found out that the phone works perfect when in "Flight Mode" can this give you any clue as to whats rong? Thank you all again?
If you've already tried a master reset (and failed), I'd bring it back if it's still within warranty. This doesn't sound healthy to me...
yea it's out of waranty now. otherwise thats the rite choice.
But what about paying for it to be repaired? how would i go about paying for it to be repaired? is there any body that can fix it?
or Can anyone give me a web site link for replacment parts for the phone...there must be someone out there selling just the main board because the screen alone is 120 then the body, charcher, frame, battery
so its not a complete rite off...is it? 😮
i used to get this error like u before
it restarts and restarts..hichic so annoying.. but when i switch to "Flightmode" and return back to normal.. it work normaly.. this reason i think about my SIM.. then i replace my SIM with another SIM.. i use it about half day then i put my error SIM again.. hey it works fine... no restart.. very strange..
hope my experience can help u..
cheers.
Yea thanks for replying, :icon14:
I have already tried another sim card and nothing works except "Flight Mode".
Your right in what you say about the flight mode though. it does seem to work in flight mode... but thats the end of it, it cant do more than that... any other thoughts guys?
I am getting this error too. I am also finding it increasingly hard to power the p900 on. Does anyone have any remedy for this?
Thanks,
Simon.
I'm having this problem too. I generally avoid turning the phone off now as its so damn hard to turn back on. It usually takes 6-8 goes. Sometimes though, it just turns itself off and i don't realise until i go to use it. Getting well fed up with it. There must be a solution for this out there....... somewhere........please!!! 😡
Try the following;
Boot your unit without the MSDuo card. Mine did boot properly. As soon as I reinserted the card it would continuosly reset itself. Since I have some software installed on the Duo, I then inserted my backup card but the problem persisted. Note that my backup card was formated on my PC (FAT), and the files copies from my main card. I then refomated the main card using my PC and copied the files from my backup card. All this did not work. I finally had to reformat my main card using the phone and reinstalled the software that was in it. I did the same for my backup card. From this point onward, the phone works perfectly.
I experienced this problem because the phone fell as I was getting out of the car. I'm quite thankful that I have a silicon skin. The phone bounced a bit without scratching the case.

Hi Zerimar,
Just wanted to know what is the brand of your silicon skin and if you bought it from a webiste, which one?
Thanks
Indojab,
I ordered the silicon skin, screen protector and USB charging/sync cable from Brando Workshop - http://shop.brando.com.hk/. Delivery was very fast. :icon14:
