CLI Problem with 9210

My communicator 9210 currently has about 1,600 records in ONE Contacts database. So the search is naturally slow but I do not want to keep multiple databases.

However, I do notice the following problem with CLI:

Almost all contact records with single "Tel GSM" entry will have the caller name displayed correctly when received the CLI from the operator network.

However, for some of the records where there are 2 or more entries of "Tel GSM" (some of my records has 4 or more!), the caller name may not be displayed but only the number. That is, the OS doesn't pick up the name from the database.

But this happens only for some of the records. For these few records, I have tried deleting the "Tel GSM" entry and re-creating them, but the result is the same. None of my friends using the 9210 or 9210i has such problem, since they don't have as many "Tel GSM" entries in a single record.

Since this occurs to only less than 10 records in my database, it didn't bother me that much. I thought I just throw this out in this forum to see if anyone has similar peculiar problem. :P

Check if you have the numbers duplicated.

I had the same problem. It will work

I use also 1.300 entries in one Data Base.

What I still do have, many duplicates, and hard to delete by hand.

A pc sync like the old one for 9110 would have been helpful.

Got a litle off topic, sorry.

I tried out "TheSpecialBoy" suggestion and it solved my problems.

Those phone numbers that doesn't pick up the name from the address book have duplicated numbers in 1 or more records.

Now that I know the cause, the difficult part is locating the entries that are duplicated, since I can search entries by entering tel numbers.

Thanks to "TheSpecialBoy".

What I suggest to do is to create a new fresh Contacts folder in outlook, and sync.

Export the filr in .csv or .xls. Using Excell it will be easeier to find duplicates sorting for example columns from A to Z.

Then Import back to outlook the folder modified in excell.

Redo sync.
Be shure you set the sync. settings that Outlook overwritecYour Commi. 8)
