Sync Folders between Nokia 9500 and PC

Hi everyone.
I know i can use PC to transfer file by file from my PC to my phone. However, i would like to transfer Folders (many files) and if possible keep them synchronized between my PC and my phone. Does any body know a soft that will allow me to do that (through bluetooth or wireless LAN). I am using Sync Pro to keep all m working folders synchronized between my laptop and my desktop but it does not work with the phone.

Nokia have not made information on the PC Suite APIs available yet therefore there are no third-party apps that sync with data on the PC.
😉

is there a way to transfer file from my PC to my 9500 without using PC SUITE?

having trouble installing my PC SUITE on XP SP2.

it is possible to transfer files using bluetooth. I use the BlueSoleil bluetooth drivers, and it has an easy file transfer mechanism.

As for synchronising files, i think there are some utilities that allow you to do that, but i have not used them.

I keep all of my material to be sync'ed on my 1g MMC. I then use tools like SyncToy from Microsoft or the open source Unison (available for most platforms) to syncronise the information between my MMC and my computer(s). It's easy to pick up enough cheap USB MMC readers for all of the machines you want to sync to.

Its not as pretty as auto-syncing over bluetooth, but its much much faster.

thanks a lot for the reply!

i forgot to mention that my bluetooth is also not working on my XP SP2 😞 so, usb cable is my only option, i don't plan to sync my phone to pc, just want to transfer files (.jpg, mp3, etc.). can't i use my 9500 to just transfer file to my MMC card?

Yes you can, but a USB2.0 mmc reader is quicker than using the USB interface cable. If you transfer a large ammount mp3's regularily, then i think itsthe better method.

Just in case i missed the question, you can transfer things to your mmc via the 9500 by:
* opening file explorer
* select the 'nokia phone browser' folder
* your phone should appear as a folder.
* select your phone
* you should be presented with folders for each drive on the 9500

Its then just a matter of drag and drop.
This should work using the cable and the Bluetooth method.

Same opinion to me. The way, almost the only way, for copy a lot of files, is the use of a Card Reader!

thanks a lot for the tip!

do i need to install anything? anyway, the reason why i'm asking is because my friend is using a sony ericsson w810i, and he just plugged his phone to a pc (without installing anything) and his phone's memory card will be displayed on the PC, just thought our 9500 can do that too?

Im not sure... I dont have the 9500 anymore. But I think that 9500 dont act like a USB memory! Only way is with PCSuite, by cable or bluetooth. 6230 - 6230i and the new ones, can act like USB memory!

You can over Bluetooth, using the OBEX file transfer method. You need to install PC suite to use the usb cable, as the 9500 is not a normal USB device.
