My 7610 MMC Card won't work

5 replies · 2,348 views · Started 07 January 2005

I've had my 7610 for about 3-4 months now, and it all works fine. The MMC card worked fine up until about a month ago, then it said it needed formatting.

I've been doing that, and normally, where it says "Would you like to give a new name to the MMC" (or something), it doesn't say that anymore, it just keeps saying "Memory Card need formatting) .

I have now bought a Card Reader, and tried it with that, and even the card reader says "Windows was unable to complete the format" .

I'm at my wits end now, and because I don't really know what I can do to rememdy this, I came online to see if someone could help me.

Any help regarding the MMC I have (I'd get a new one as a last resort) would be MUCH appreciated 😞

You are probably formatting it using a PC..make sure you format it to FAT and not FAT32.

Regards.

(This is still me; I've just registered)

dtjames, I tried what you said - changing the FAT32 option to FAT, but it still says the same. I even tried putting the 'format options' into "Quick Format", and that still gave the same results 😞

As again, I'm stumped, and want some help :con?

Did you attempt to format the card with the phone?
That may work better than formatting with PC.

I tried that many times beforehand. I'll try it again now though, just in case 😊
